Hello and welcome.
My name is Sanjay Brahmandam, and I’m a composer creating music for film, animation, commercial media, and standalone projects. My work is centered around building immersive sonic worlds—music that evokes emotion, atmosphere, and tension while supporting the story at the heart of a project. I’m drawn to cinematic textures, evocative melodies, and modern sound design, and I approach every piece with a deep sense of care and curiosity.
This blog will be a place where I share much more than finished music.
Alongside new releases—whether they’re standalone tracks or music written for visual media—I’ll be posting behind-the-scenes looks at my process, explainer videos, thoughts on composing, and conversations around storytelling and sound. I’m also interested in sharing podcast-style reflections about creativity, the craft of scoring, and the things that inspire my work. Some of this will connect with the short-form content I’ll be posting on my upcoming TikTok page as well.
Music has been a part of my life in many forms. Before focusing heavily on composition, I spent years playing drums in a metal band with my brother. To this day, we still collaborate and co-compose on many projects. That background in rhythm, energy, and raw performance continues to shape how I think about music—even when writing more atmospheric or cinematic pieces.
Outside of music, I have a deep passion for languages and learning about different cultures. I’m currently fluent in English, Telugu, and Hindi, semi-fluent in French, and I’m planning to dive into Spanish and Japanese next. I find that languages, much like music, are ways of understanding how people express emotion and tell stories.
Another personal fact that tends to surprise people: I love spicy food—and I have a pretty serious tolerance for it.
Ultimately, this space is meant to be a window into the creative process. I hope it becomes a place where I can share ideas, experiments, inspirations, and the occasional deep dive into the craft of music and storytelling.
