Finding Balance: Social Life, Work, and Time Alone
Balancing work and life isn’t always straightforward—especially in a field like this.
There are stretches where you’re fully immersed in a project, spending long hours alone, focused, and in your own head. And then there’s the other side—making time for people, conversations, and experiences outside of work. Both matter.
But something I’ve come to value just as much is time with yourself. Not working, not socializing—just being present without needing to produce anything.
It’s easy to feel like you should always be doing something—either progressing in your career or staying connected socially. But constantly switching between the two can be draining in its own way.
Finding balance isn’t about splitting time evenly. It’s about knowing when you need each one—and allowing yourself that space without guilt.
I don't know. You tell me -- how do you balance time between work, people, and yourself?
